Summer Quotes
I realize that it’s been sometime since my last quotes post and you’ve been seeing tons of awesome product reviews and giveaways in the last month. So, I thought it was time to take a breather from all of the products and write a quote post. Since it’s been sooo hot/humid here, I thought it was a great time to dig up some summer quotes! Yay!
James Dent once said, “a perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken” and Erma Bombeck said, “being a child at home alone in the summer is a high-risk occupation. If you call your mother at work thirteen times an hour, she can hurt you.”
Oh, I love lazy summer days, for the most part. I like being able to sleep in as late as I please and stay up all hours of the night. Haha! What about you? What do you enjoy/dislike about summer?

I love not being cold! I hate Ohio winters.
I like the summer b/c you get to go on vacation, and dont b/c the temperature!
I really like that Erma Bombeck comment!!! She was one funny woman when she was alive!!!

I love going swimming in the summer time! however, i burn very easily.. that part is not so much fun!
I love watching all the vegetables I’m growing in my garden getting bigger and changing every day. I love that my children who I have included in everything get to eat what they’ve planted, watered and tended to.
I live in CA and I enjoy the warm summer nights the best, I really like summer, it’s my favorite holiday. I recently read “My Antonia” and although it is not set in California, the author writes so beautifully that it makes me nostalgic for summer it’s leaving pretty soon
Where I live, it’s monsoon season in the summer. That’s what I love. I love the rainy days because I sleep so easily when it rains
I love the quote about the lawnmower! I hate mowing the lawn (and not having air conditioning at our house). I do love the sleeping in and cool evenings.
What I love most about the summer is being able to walk the streets of my city and see so many people out and about, enjoying themselves, and getting to spend long nights outdoors with friends and family enjoying each other’s company. Great post!
Great post! I love the quote about being a kid staying home during the summer! Oh so true. I used to call my Mom tons of times a day when I was in school. “Mom, can I go to the pool?” “Mom, what time do I have to be back?” “Mom, can Jennifer spend the night tonight?” “Mom, when you get off will you take us to Taco Bell?” LOL Funny to think about, thanks!
i love summer! wish my lawn mower would break though.

The one love I love most about summer is the ice cream trucks! I love to hear the music driving down my street as I grab my purse and rum out the door.
That part in Erma Bombeck’s quote about the lawnmower being broken, so true.
Summer…..well I don’t like using the word hate at all, but Summer I HATE! Sweat and bugs are all about! When I was a little girl I remember beetles getting caught in my long hair….I don’t think I’ve gone outside since! I need to move from PA to coldness!!!
How funny to come across this post now when we just received quite a few inches of snow…and it’s still going strong. It sure looks gorgeous…from the window! LOL I know there’s only a few weeks left until I’m longing for warmer weather.
Happy Holidays everyone!
