With it being back to school time, it’s also time to promote traffic safety. In high school, I was president of the SADD/YOVASO club. Because of this, I have very strong feelings about driving safely. The state of New York recently passed a new law that gives harsher punishment for drivers who injure pedestrians. This law, Elle’s Law, is named for a 3 year old who was killed in Manhattan last year. While not all states have this law, it’s still a great time to remind everyone to drive safely. Always wear your seatbelt! Also, don’t drink and drive.

The easiest way to teach a new driver not to frink and drive is to ask them to watch the news/read the newspaper. Drinking, then driving and hurting or even possibly killing someone? Of course, it would be un-smart to not wear your seatbelt and injure/kill yourself in the process. -.-

This is so very important… and I wish that everyone would take the time needed to get educated about this issue. Many lives have been saved because of the awareness, but so many more could be saved if we all take the time to spread the word.
