History Channel Instant Expert Giveaway
When I was pitched for the new Instant Expert series from History Channel, I was really excited! Here’s why!
HISTORY INSTANT EXPERT, offering on-the-spot knowledge to students and lifelong learners on a wide variety of topics. Each DVD has bonus features – quizzes, study guides, activities and more.
This series is PERFECT for any teacher or homeschooling parent! It’s also great for anyone interested in learning more about these topics! I watched some of these with my boyfriend and some alone. So, let’s get started on this lovely set!
The French Revolution Instant Expert DVD
is an epic tale of political rebellion and economic upheaval. From the grandeur of Versailles and the marriage of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, to the disintegration of the revolution nearly a decade later, THE FRENCH REVOLUTION details this pivotal period in European history.
This one was interesting and enjoyable. It wasn’t my favorite, but I liked it. This is great for the world history teacher!
The legend of Beowulf, the Viking world’s most famous warrior, is the ultimate tale of courage. Pit against thirsty invaders, barbaric monsters, and a fire-breathing dragon, BEOWULF emerged as Norse mythology’s greatest hero.
I read Beowolf in my senior English class in high school. This dvd would have fit nicely with that section. It’s an informative dvd that would be the perfect addition to any English/Literature class’s library.
Benjamin Franklin Instant Expert DVD
Narrated in a straightforward, conversational tone, BEN FRANKLIN features in-depth interviews with renowned biographers and historians, as well as on-location reenactments shot in high-definition, for a truly remarkable walk in this founding father’s footsteps.
I found this dvd to be truly interesting. It’s full of facts and never gets boring! I really liked it! It’s wonderful for that history teacher or buff! I will be keeping this for future use in the classroom for sure!
The epic saga of the pilgrims and their journey to and colonization of the New World is one of the fundamental narratives of our nation. THE MAYFLOWER explores the true story of the pilgrims and how the colony’s saga continued in the decades after their fateful voyage.
Wow! I learned so much from this dvd! I didn’t know that they had been planning for their journey for years prior to actually leaving! This dvd is seriously packed with info! Another great dvd to have if you are teaching history or if you interested in the Mayflower or that time period!
Through cutting-edge digital graphics and interviews with noted Egyptologists, EGYPT explores the civilization’s awe-inspiring engineering accomplishments, chronicling the pharaohs and feats that helped build the world’s first superpower.
I actually watched this one with boyfriend! I think he may have enjoyed it slightly more than I did! Just like the other dvds in this selection, it is full of facts and information! There is just so much to learn in this dvd! Plus, the imagery is beautiful! This is a really nice dvd on Egypt that is great for the classroom!
The Story of Oil Instant Expert DVD
An energy source unrivaled in efficiency and power, oil is the driving force behind today’s industries and economies. THE STORY OF OIL traces the story of oil through the centuries, from its birth deep in the dinosaur-inhabited past to its
ascendancy as an indispensable ingredient of modern life.
This dvd provides the watcher with much information on oil. I never knew most of that is included in this dvd. It also helps that it’s not boring! It’s truly interesting!
Overall, this is a wonderful set of dvds for any teacher/future educator, homeschoolers, or history buff! I was really pleased with this set! Plus, it covers important topics that are still relevant and being taught today. Also, I really enjoyed the quiz at the end of every dvd. I only wish that the answer was displayed right after the question rather than just telling you if you were correct or incorrect. However, it does give you all of the correct answers in the answer key at the very end. I really like this set and I’m sure many others will, too!
