Purex Crystals Review
You may have noticed the addition of a new VIP Purex Insider badge on my memberships page. That’s because I’ve been selected as a Purex Insider! Woot! That means I will be bringing you some great things from Purex, now. Yay!
For my first review with Purex, I got to try the new Purex Complete Crystals Softener! The Crystals were new in Wal-Mart on December 28th and will be in other stores in January/February! The Purex Crystals are really neat. Here is an image to show you how they work.
I got to try the blue crystals in Fresh Spring Waters scent. The crystals smell really nice. It’s not overpowering or anything. It smells really pretty. It gives clothing a nice, refreshing, clean smell. The scent lasts a good while, too.
I think the crystals are more fun to use than regular softener, too. It’s got a more modern feel to it since the crystals are placed into the washing machine with the clothing. That means it has more time to give the clothes a soft feel and a nice smell. The crystals are also 92% natural which means they won’t damage your clothing or towels and won’t leave an oily residue on your stuff. This means that you get to use your clothes longer, which means you save money! Yay!
My mom was afraid that the clothing would lose the nice smell once we put the clothing in the dryer. Mom does almost all of the laundry in our household, so I figured she knew what she was talking about. She said that many good smelling products lose the scent once the laundry comes out. However, this product keeps the nice scent in the laundry. Yay for Purex!

I absolutley LOVE it! Smells amazing and works great, the smell lasts through the wash and the dryer, everytime I take out a load now I smell all the clothes, I adore it. My new fav and a must have from now on!
I have used both the Blue and Purple crystals and all I can say is what an innovative product this really is! The scent lasts and lasts, and it isn’t over-powering, more like when you let your clothes line-dry on a sunny day. Try using it on new denim jeans; this helps to break them in a little faster by making the denim slightly softer for you! Great stuff!
These sound really, really interesting. I can’t wait to try them. Thanks for the review. I’d probably be hesitant to try them otherwise.
Just bought some at wolly world and they are pretty cool. im new to the world and im trying new things, like carpet stuff. crystals are cool!!!!!!!

I tried the Purex Crystals, blue bottle, and really like them. I like that the scent stays with the clothes and that there’s no residue left on my clothes. The only thing I don’t care for is that they do nothing to reduce static cling. If they helped get rid of static cling then I would give up my other fabric softeners and just use the Purex Crystals.
These are the best I have found …. I can smell the scent in my clothes all day long … love this product!!
I never heard of the Purex Crystal fabric softener until I found a coupon on coupon.com. I figured since I would save a buck, I’d try it out. I absolutly love it. I will not buy any other fabric softener. I do have to disagree with the other comments about the smell being strong. If I leave my laundry door open, my entire basement smells like the softener(but in a good way) Now my basement and my clothes have never smelt so fresh!
I found the scent to be INCREDIBLY overpowering. I had to rewash my load because it was so disgusting.
I would not recommend this product at all.
I bought the lavender scent smells really nice, I like the idea that its a crystal and not a liquid. It makes my clothes so soft and fluffy, I just love it! I will be buying it again and trying another scent.There is one thing I don’t agree with, the bottle says theres enough for 32 loads? Not true! I did 0nly 3 loads of laundry and half the bottle was gone. So maybe if you count out 5 or 6 crystals per load, you might be able to streatch it to 32 loads?

Sensitive laundry detergent and softener cleaned but did a poor job with odor.
I purchased the blue Purex Crystals and used just a scant teaspoon per load along with the products I normally use, but I used a little less of both. The odor disappeared after the first wash leaving behind a hint of freshness without causing us any allergy outbreaks from the scent.
I am very impressed with this product. I will continue to buy it.
i just bought your crystals and i love them i have tried all my laundry doing life to get my clothes to smell fresh ,then there was your crystals love them will use them every time for now on.
I’ve been using crystal for about a month. I will continue to purchase them. I think the crystals are less messy than the regular softner. I also like putting it in the machine at the beginning instead of waiting for the rinse cycle. The sent is fresh and light. Thanks Purex!
Just a heads up on what the Purex Crystals are made out of. They are sugar and clay. You may wish to think twice about using them in your washer!!! That combination can be really hard on your washer and on your fabrics!
I am taking the two that I purchased back last week! I can’t afford to buy a new washer or to buy new clothes!!!
I just love them.. Makes the clothes smell so much better .. I do put them in a washer ball with alittle water . Will get more if coupons come up in the paper. Now days I can’t afford get anything without a coupon..
I must say I tried them simply because there was a fantastic coupon that I couldn’t pass up, but they are simple to use and make the clothes smell wonderful. The only problem that I have is that when I start folding my clothes I find that some have chalky stains on them. The stains come out in the next wash but it’s such a pain and unless someone can tell me whether I’m doing something wrong, I don’t think I’ll buy them again.
I have been using Purex crystals for a few months now and they have ruined my washer. I did like the product but wished that I had looked at the ingredients before using.
I used the blue and it left blue spots on ALL my clothes I had to use 2 bottles of spray & wash to get the spots out and a couple shirts are just ruined! I threw the bottle in the trash with the rest of the garbage this stuff is AWEFUL!
I used the Blue crystals a few months back and loved them, but recently every load I have used the Blue crystals in have turned everything blue with blue blotches. I made sure that there were whites only in the load. Washed clothes in 2 different machine with the same results. Had to use RIT color remover to get the clothes back to normal. Would not recommend this product..at least the Blue one.
I think its great use it all the time, I have no complaints.
I have been using the blue purex crystals for months. LOVE the smell… I have three boys (two teenagers, one preteen) who play school/competitive soccer, so there is ALWAYS a stinky, sweaty, nasty basket full of laundry here. One jersey was put in that basket after just one wearing, without actually getting dirtied. But trust me when I say, it was mixed right in the basket with the nasty stuff. Well, he had to wear it before I had washed everything so I took it out – fully expecting to have to spray a bunch of something on it so he could bear to wear it. Not so. It still smelled great, even after two days wadded up with disgusting smelling stuff!!! BUT……….. just did a load of whites that came out with blue blotches all over stuff. NOT cool. I have used this for a long time now, and have been singing its praises to other athletes’ moms…but within hours of doing so, this is what I find. Hmmmmm..gotta figure out what made that happen!
