William and Kate Movie Giveaway

Coming out on dvd tomorrow (June 21st) is the William & Kate Movie from Lifetime! It was produced for and premiered on Lifetime back before the royal wedding. It’s the story of how Prince William and Kate Middleton met and came to be engaged. It starts by showing both of them doing their own thing at college and then getting to know one another over time. Having already watched the Royal Wedding DVD and documentary on it, I already knew that they met at college though.

I was interested to see how they got together. However, some of the events that took place in the film make me wonder how much of it is true and how much was simply created for entertainment purposes. For instance, it shows the couple hiding their relationship in the beginning (which I know is true). However, it showed them visiting each other’s room as they lived in the same house while in college. I don’t want to say that didn’t happen. But, I’m not sure if they would actually sneak out of their rooms in the middle of the night to see each other and then stay over for the night.

I will say that it was an entertaining and romantic film. It did portray William as someone wanting to be treated as a normal person, which I thought was interesting. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I thought it was kind of funny when he messed up a couple attempts at cooking! Haha! I also enjoyed a conversation in the film between William and Prince Charles about Diana and Camilla (again, I’m not sure that it took place). I thought it was interesting to think if this effected William’s decision to call Kate after they broke-up. Either way, the film ends with William proposing to “Waitie Katie” after many years of dating. I think it’s a good movie for someone wanting to catch something different, romantic, or has interest in the couple. If you enjoy Lifetime movies, you will probably like this one as well.
