I’m sure you’ve always wanted to try those products you’ve seen commercials for, you know those As Seen on TV products. Well, thanks to TV Top Ten I recently got to try one of those! I received the Smooth Away, just in time for summer! It is a hair removal pad that removes hair with the aid of superfine crystals to buff it away. I was (perhaps overly) excited to this as I often feel like the hairiest woman ever! Haha! Really, I think I must grow hair in places that is abnormal. So, I wanted to try the Smooth Away as a safer alternative to shaving and waxing.

As you can see from the pictures above, it’s really simple to use. You get 2 pink hand-held applicators (1 is small and 1 is large) and 4 pads for them. These pads have a sticky backing, so you can easily put them on or take them off. The hand held things fit in the hand nicely (as shown in the picture). It’s not uncomfortable to use or hard to reach areas (as it sometimes is with a razor).

The bottom left picture is my skin with some unsightly hair. You are supposed to remove the hair by moving the Smooth Away in a circular direction 3 times and then switching the other direction for 3 more tries. Then, you should be hair-free. I must admit, I didn’t have very high expectations for this device. However, if you look at the bottom right picture, you can see it did in fact remove some hair. I would not recommend the Smooth Away for large areas (like your legs). However, it does work for smaller areas of the body. It’s perfect for touch-ups too! Plus, it’s more portable than a razor for those summer trips.

I did accidentally use the big Smooth Away without doing the circular motions once to see if it would remove some hair I couldn’t get it to take care of. However, that is not a good idea. It actually irritated my skin and gave me a bit of a break out. However, it healed within a week (and it was my own fault).
