Magic Beyond Words J.K. Rowling Story DVD Giveaway
You probably learned from my last Harry Potter Giveaway that I just love the books and movies. So, I was really excited when I learned that Lifetime Television (you know that channel that makes other chic flicks) was making a movie based on J.K. Rowling’s life. If you are a fan of the series in any way, you probably know that she is the author of the series. So, I was doubly excited when I had the chance to view the movie on dvd as I didn’t get the chance to watch it on television.
The movie is called, Magic Beyond Words The J.K. Rowling Story. I thought that was a fun title. It came out on dvd on November 7th. You may or may not know that the last Harry Potter movie came out on DVD a week ago. So, it was good timing for Lifetime to put it out then. Plus, now they are both available for holiday gifts. 
The movie stars Poppy Montgomery as J.K. Rowling. It provides
an inspiring look at J.K. Rowling’s rise to become one of the most influential writers ever (with more than 400 million copies of her visionary books sold across the globe resulting in a billion-dollar film franchise), MAGIC BEYOND WORDS follows her humble beginnings as an imaginative young girl and awkward teenager through the devastating loss of her mother and the genesis of the Harry Potter phenomenon in her early twenties. The drama also follows Rowling’s tumultuous first marriage, becoming a mother, her divorce, and the dark days of living on government assistance while publisher after publisher passed on her first novel…before it became an international best-seller and solidified Rowling’s rightful place in literary and cultural history.
I recently had the chance to sit down and watch this with my boyfriend. We both enjoyed it. I had a good time looking for possible inspirations for her books from the characters around her to the settings. I thought it was an interesting movie. I would have like to have seen more about her second marriage (like how did they meet). However, I definitely thought it was informative and fun to watch.
The movie would make a great gift for any HP fans this holiday season. It’s also nice to watch just to relax (as I did). I can see why this movie was such a hit for Lifetime. Now, two of my lucky readers will be able to see it as well…

my kids are and have been obsessed with JK for as long as i can remember! if she is on TV, they watch to see what she has to say, if she write something, they want to read it, i am somewhat amazed by it but they are older so I guess its the actual person they are interested in and not so much the books and movies…smart kids!
