Frostys Winter Wonderland DVD Review

Frostys Winter Wonderland

I recently told you that I love the older holiday movies because I used to watch them on VHS and on television as a child. Now, I love owning them so I can share them with my future children and enjoy them myself for years to come. One of the newest dvds I received that fits into this category is Frosty’s Winter Wonderland.

Frosty’s Winter Wonderland is the awesome classic snowman story that features the voices of Andy Griffith (Yay!), Shelley Winters, and Jackie Vernon. Andy Griffith is a big deal in my family. I mean my grandfather loves him. So, I was really excited when I realized what edition of the story this was. It also features the two now famous songs “Frosty the Snowman” and “Winter Wonderland”.

Just in case you don’t remember the storyline to this movie, I’ll remind you. Frosty has met his companion, Crystal and they wish to get married. However, Jack Frost becomes jealous of all of the attention Frosty is receiving and he takes his magical hat. So, only true love can bring Frosty back. If nothing else, the story can help you understand the song “Winter Wonderland”. Actually, the weekend before I viewed this movie, I had a conversation about the song and who/what was a Parson Brown. Haha!

This deluxe edition also some additional things. This includes Frosty and the Story of the Snowman, Dolphin Tale trailer, and Santa’s Magical Stories trailer. The trailers are exactly what you think they are. Frosty and the Story of the Snowman talks about the making of the film. I thought it was an interesting addition to the dvd. It’s definitely more for us adults as children probably wouldn’t appreciate it.

This is definitely a fun dvd to have on hand during this time of the year. Plus, since it’s more about the cold weather and not necessarily Christmas, you can probably enjoy all winter long. Have you viewed this story? What did you think of it?

Disclosure: I received a free copy of Frosty’s Winter Wonderland on DVD. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.
