Recently, I mentioned that I had been doing a hard workout. I was talking about Personal Training with Jackie: 30 Day Fast Start. I have done a couple Jackie Warner workout dvd giveaways previously and was already a fan of Jackie’s. So, I was excited to give this new one a try.
This dvd is different from the other ones from Jackie. You see, it features a pyramid approach to working out. This means that you start by doing just one of the exercise and then two, followed by three and working up to 10! I should note that you actually do two moves that are one count. So, you get to workout multiple parts with just one workout. The dvd actually features two separate workouts: lower body with abs and upper body.
I felt that the upper body was the easier of the two. Then again, I believe I should look into getting heavier weights. I mean I still felt the burn, but I didn’t hurt like I think I was supposed to. Needless to say, this a good upper body workout. It really targets the arms, shoulders, etc. I thought it was also kind of fun.
The lower body with abs exercises were really hard! I thought that my legs were more toned these days. However, I learned that they were not with this dvd. The day after doing just the legs portion, my legs were similar to jello and were really jiggly. Then, two days after the workout, I could barley walk. Haha! Seriously, the workout really did a number on my thighs! The following week, I did the legs with abs. My legs handled the workout better. However, my abs were extremely sore! I couldn’t laugh, get up, or lean over without hurting. I also noticed that the pain felt different on the second day versus the first (like with the legs). It did a good job on my upper abs for sure.
Needless to say, this is a great way to change up your workout! I was amazed with the results in terms of how difficult it was and how it kept me interested. I just love working out with Jackie. This dvd does not disappoint! Just make sure that you don’t have to do any heavy lifting for a few days following the workout (I actually had to move out of my dorm two days after the first time I did the leg workout and it was difficult to do). Jackie even says you need to take a day off after doing the dvd to allow your body to rest and I completely agree. This dvd is wonderful for any fan of Jackie’s or if you are just looking to try something new.
