I recently had the opportunity to try something new for my workouts, the Boston Body Barre DVD by Zayna Gold. Boston Body Barre is a mix of Pilates and Cardio that targets the butt, arms, abs, and legs to give you a strong, lean and graceful body. That sounds mighty interesting, doesn’t it? Plus, this video is 60 minutes. So, I’m sure you think it sounds totally undo-able. However, you’d be wrong.
For starters, all of the moves in the workout are pretty basic in that virtually anyone can do them. However, the pace and repetition is what will you get you. I will start a move and think “oh, this is easy”, but after I do it a few times, I can feel it really working my muscles. Haha! Additionally, Zayna tries to make it so that you listen to your body and do the moves in a way that is right for you. So, you don’t have to keep up with her and the more physically fit people on the video. One other thing I love is that the workout is broke up into sections on the main menu. So, you can do certain aspects of it while skipping others. You can make it fit your time allotment. That is wonderful for busy students, moms, and teachers.
Overall, I think this is a pretty fun workout. The music is fabulous! It really makes me want to move. The moves are also fun. Plus, Zayna’s personality really bumps up the workout. Women of many ages will enjoy this workout. Now, one lucky reader will get the chance to try it in their home!
