You know I’m always up for trying a new workout dvd. However, I was a little hesitant to try the new Yoga for Cancer Recovery DVD since I obviously have never had cancer. However, my grandmother had breast cancer and I know many others who have or had cancer. So, I decided to give the workout a go since I thought some yoga might be nice. This dvd contains two workouts – a 30 minute and a 60 minute one.
I initially tried this dvd when I was trying to finish up the hectic semester and was really stressed. I tried the 30 minute workout first because I didn’t have a whole hour to devote to working out. I really liked it! It is supposed to be relaxing. It definitely helped me deal with the stress of end of the semester stuff. I felt better physically, emotionally, and mentally after trying it. I will put this dvd in to do some un-winding now. It’s great for everyone, I think (not just for those who have cancer).
I finally tried the 60 minute workout more recently. I actually had a headache and felt really worried about stuff. However, I knew I needed to do something. So, I opted for this workout in hopes of it helping me some. It is for restoring bone loss and muscular strength, enhancing ciruclation, digestion and lymphatic flow. While I will admit that it’s hard for me to do any workout for longer than 30-40 minutes because of time contraints, I really liked this one. It actually managed to help ease my headache some. I think it was able to get me thinking about the workout instead of worrying.
I was surprised by this workout since I actually enjoyed it. Granted, many of the moves are supposed to help those recovering from cancer. However, the yoga aspect is great for those of us dealing with stress (which is everyone these days). Now, one lucky reader will be able to try it out.
