As you probably already know, I’m a sucker for something sweet. I just love desserts. So, I knew I had to accept the opportunity to feature a recipe book of homemade Italian desserts by a blogger. I had never heard of Grace Massa Langlois before this, but I do like to support my fellow bloggers when they publish something. Grace’s Sweet Life started out as a blog and is now a book!
I will admit that I didn’t really know much about Italian desserts prior to this book. When I thought of Italian food, I thought of the typical meals. However, this book is filled with delicious sounding (and looking) desserts which is an eye-opener for me. It features recipes for tiramisu, sicilian cannoli, panna cotta with raspberry jelly, and chocolate eclairs with pastry cream. Yummy! The book is divided into chapters including cakes and cheesecakes, mini desserts, pies and tarts, creams, custards, mousse and souffles and a few others. Each recipe is listed by its Italian name with its translation below it. I think that is a great idea. It makes it feel authentic while letting you know what it is.
Overall, the recipes look so good. I bet everything is fabulous. One complaint I have is that I wish there were more pictures in the book. I think it has around 50 of them, but I love recipes which feature photos to get me really interested in trying out the recipe. So, I think a few more pictures would have been awesome. The pictures included look delightful. Just look at the cover, those dishes are mouth-watering.
Now, one lucky reader will have the opportunity to learn more about Italian desserts because they will win a copy of this book!
