HTC One S Cell Phone Review

HTC One S 173x300 HTC One S Cell Phone Review

Last week, I shared with you the fact that I was taking an HTC One S cell phone with me to Reviewer’s Retreat. Now that I am back and have had time to get everything unpacked, it is time to share my thoughts with you. Let me start by saying that I am used to a flip phone that allows me to surf the internet and check email, but that’s as smart it gets. Haha! So, I was really excited to see what a touchscreen phone would be like for me.

One of the reasons I had stuck with a flip phone for so long is that I was afraid of butt dialing with a touchscreen phone. However, I was very impressed with HTC One S’s unlocking ring on the screen. To use the phone, you have to click the power button on the top of the phone. Then, you have to slide this silver ring up to unlock the phone. I was pleased to notice that it actually required my finger to drag the ring rather than just accidentally bumping it a bit. So, it seems I may be ready to finally leave my flip phones behind with this cool feature.

I must say I was really pleased with this phone at the conference. It had a great camera that allowed me to take pictures quickly. It also has a neat Continuous Shooting feature that allows you to take multiple shots quickly so you can pick the best one from the bunch to save. So, you are more likely to get a great picture versus just a good picture. I also appreciate the fact that it has ImageChip and a five-level auto adjustable flash. Both of these things keep my pictures from being blurry or too dark for me. I feel like I sometimes need all of the help I can get when taking pictures, so I greatly appreciated those things.

In addition to allowing me to capture my favorite moments at the conference, the phone also gave me the ability to communicate with others efficiently. Thanks to an app, I shared many of my pictures on Twitter right after I took them. You can view the six Reviewer’s Retreat Pictures I Tweeted out using the phone (and used its camera to capture) on my Twitter images. See how crisply it captured the inside of the Kia Optima Hybrid I got to drive. You can actually see how great the touchscreen in the car is.

Since I was able to Tweet pictures during the conference, I even won a product from Energizer. So, it was really worth having this nice cell phone with me at the conference. I am sad to send this phone back as I’ve really come to love it. I mean the awesome features made me use the phone more often than I usually do and I actually had to charge this phone several times while at the conference. However, it’s back to my boring flip phone for now. I don’t think I can do another blogger event/conference without a touchscreen phone now. I am definitely considering getting an HTC cell phone in the future.

What kind of phone do you have? Have you ever owned an HTC cell phone? What did you think of it?

Disclosure: I received an HTC One S phone to use while at the conference. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.

I just went from a HTC to an iphone too. However, I did it because I have a Mac and they sync. Otherwise, I loved my HTC EVO.

I own an iPhone, but got to try out an HTC phone and really liked it. It was hard to return it.

Nicely written. I’ve always had a flip phone to this day. Knowing how technology’s continuously advancing, I’m sure that I’ll end up with a smartphone one way or another. Great review!
