Livrada e-book Gift Card Review

As you might know, I love to read! I have enjoyed reading ever since I was a little girl and my mom took me to the library on Saturdays. Reading is one of my favorite things to do. Granted, during the school year I don’t have as much time to read for pleasure. However, during the summer, I really try to get in some good reading.
Since I got an iPad for a graduation gift, I now have the ability to download e-books to read too. Reading books on an electronic device makes it easier to transport it and to do other things in between reading. However, it has been harder (up until now) to give someone a book to enjoy. I mean your options were to purchase a gift card for the person for Barnes & Noble or Amazon. However, you couldn’t purchase a specific book for them to read. You could recommend one, but that was it. Thankfully, a new company is helping us out. Launching today, Livrada offers e-book gift cards!
You buy an actual plastic gift card for a specific book to give to someone. Then, they go the Livrada site and enter the card’s info. They can download the book from either Amazon or Barnes & Noble. The site says for your Amazon Kindle or Nook. However, I have both of those apps installed on my iPad and can download books from them. I received a gift card for the book 50 Shades of Grey (Shh!) and opted to download the book from Amazon because I just finished a book on that app last weekend. It was an easy and quick process.
I like that Livrada gives us a way to give someone a specific book now with e-readers. Granted, they have only a select few titles available right now, but they will be adding more in the future over time. Currently, you can get
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, State of Wonder, Gone Girl, Charles Street, Odd Thomas, or 44 Charles Street
Additionally, you should know that these e-book gift cards can be purchased exclusively at Target stores right now. So, you can pick a card up while you are there shopping for you other needs. I think this is a great idea for us book worms. What you think of this idea? Will you be trying it out?
Disclosure: I received a free e-book gift card. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.
