I continue to be impressed with P&G’s efforts to appreciate moms. Once again, they did something great. As we all know, the Olympics are currently being held in London. Prior to that, P&G hosted a great send off for Olympians and their moms at the Los Angeles Costco Wholesale warehouse. Both companies wanted to remind shoppers of the important role that moms play in helping their children reach their full potential. As an educator, I couldn’t agree with this message more. I know that parents play a large role in their children’s lives. Children do better when their parents support them and encourage them.
One of the Olympians they recognized was three-time Olympian and World Champion Water Polo Player Brenda Villa, as well as her mom, Rosario. As Brenda began to excel at water polo, her mom, a Mexican immigrant, encouraged her to pursue her goals and dreams in a completely unfamiliar sport. She gives this advice to fellow moms (especially those of atheletes):
“Encourage them, support them and allow them to follow their dreams. Make sure you give them the confidence to follow their own values and beliefs and stay true to themselves.”
It’s clear that Brenda’s mom had a very positive impact on her daughter’s life and she should be recognized for that. In fact, P&G believes that all moms should be recognized for their accomplishments. They want everyone to be able to say Thank You Mom. To correspond with this great endeavor, I am being allowed to giveaway a fabulous prize package of P&G products that can be found at Costco (pictured above). Check it out!
One lucky Laughing Lindsay reader will win a prize package of P&G goodies available at Costco.
