The school supplies kit I was sent from The Write Stuff.
So, I am still sadly applying for teaching jobs for the fall. I really hope I get at least an interview asap so I can start planning and purchasing supplies for my classroom. I am thankful to have received an awesome school supplies kit to get me started though. It’s from a site called The Write Stuff. It was founded in 1989 (the year I was born) when some PTA members wanted to help students get the right supplies for school. They work with schools, organizations, and individuals to provide school supply kits full of name brand school supplies. I was lucky enough to receive one of these kits.
The kit contains several very useful products. As a (hopefully) future teacher, I would be pleased as punch if a student brought this kit to my classroom or if one was donated to my class. I was very surprised to discover a box of tissues. I know that many teachers have to purchase things such as tissues and hand sanitizer or soap themselves. So, I would be tickled if one of my students brought in these items for the class to use. I also like that it came with a pencil box so students can put their supplies in it to be ready for class.

My kit contained 6 nice pencils. We all know those are essential to success in the classroom and students (and teachers) can never have enough. It also has 3 Papermate pens. Two of them are black ink and 1 is red with a handy eraser. As we all know, teachers use pens to grade papers. So, those are handy. The kit also came with a box of crayons and markers. I think that is fabulous as some teachers or students have a preference for one or the other. This way, you are covered. There is also a pair of scissors in the kit. These supplies are Crayola branded. So, you know they are high quality. There is also a huge Elmer’s glue stick. I think it would last any student at least 6 weeks. Haha!
The kit also contained some other goodies. It has 2 (70 sheet) wide-ruled notebooks. Hello, usefulness. Plus, there’s a package of loose leaf paper. Additionally, there are three brightly colored pocket folders which would be great for students or teachers to get organized with. Lastly, there is a ruler, a highlighter, and an Expo dry eraser marker. The highlighter & ruler may not be necessary depending on the age of the child. However, almost any teacher would gratefully take a free dry erase marker.
Overall, I think this is a fantastic idea to provide people with a kit of school supplies. It sure makes back to school shopping a little easier. I mean just think of skipping the long lines at the store and the actual trip to and from the store. Doesn’t that sound like a brilliant idea? Additionally, The Write Stuff will be offering “Deal Days” where you can get the supplies at an even cheaper rate than they already are. There’s currently one set for July 28th. So, mark your calendars and pay attention to their social media sites for updates. Oh, and you can also check out the The Write Stuff Blog for back to school tips.
