Skin cancer tends to run in the family on my dad’s side. I am also a naturally fair skinned person. Besides having to deal with finding makeup to match my skintone, I also have to try to remember to carry sunblock with me at all times so that I don’t get burned. I was recently able to try to some new sunblock from Banana Boat. It’s their Natural Reflect line which is free of oxybenzone and parabens. Rather, it contains the 100% naturally sourced mineral sunscreens Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. The line contains three different varities: Natural Reflect Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+, Natural Reflect Kids Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ and Natural Reflect Baby Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+.
Since I’m an adult and don’t have any children, I have been trying the Natural Reflect Sunscreen Lotion. I like that it has a light scent. It doesn’t have the same usual smell that most sunscreens have. However, it does have a smell to it. I think I prefer this smell to the regular scented stuff. It seems more natural and less harsh. I also like that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy like many sunscreens do. I can feel the invisiable layer of protection, yet my body is sliding up and away from things if I brush up against something.

Plus, right now the Banana Boat Facebook page is sharing daily activity guides with tips and suggestions for having fun in the sun together as a family. During the 101 Days of Summer Play (from Memorial Day to Labor Day), you can take the pledge to encourage your children to play outside everyday. For every pledge, one bottle of Banana Boat Natural Reflect will be donated to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp which is a residential camp for children coping with cancer and other serious illnesses.
