Over a year ago I posted my Epson Artisan Printer Review where I was first introduced to Epson products. I have been using the printer ever since then and still love it. However, I have often wished that it was smaller with more features. That’s why I wanted to review the Expression XP-800 small-in-one Printer from Epson. It’s a “small-in-one printer” which means it’s a small all-in-one printer. Just look at the differences between my Artisan and my new Expression!

Doesn’t it look much prettier? The top isn’t straight across like the Artisan. That’s because it has a handy document feeder on top. It is also much smaller. I like that it doesn’t have a big thing sticking out the back of it. Plus, it’s not as wide as the Artisan. I am definitely liking the size of the Expression because we have an extremely small house and we need all of the room we can get.
I was also very excited to see some of the additional features on the Expression (besides the feeder). One thing I noticed almost immediately was the built-in card slots with a cover. It remains hidden when not in use and makes the printer look sleeker. Then, you open it to reveal the slots. This allows for pc-free printing which I do more often than not. In fact, I made a very short video where I took a photo from an SD card of mine and printed a picture directly from it. You can also see the snazzy auto-extend paper output tray that this printer has.
Another cool thing about this printer is its adjustable control panel with 3.5″ touchscreen. That makes it even easier to do things without a computer. I flipped it up in the video in order to see the picture clearly as well as to input commands. It makes it so much easier to do stuff without having to be right in front of the printer. Here are some pictures of the document feeder, the control panel with touchscreen, and built-in card slots.

Obviously, I’m in love with this printer. I love that it allows me to do so much in such a small space… Did I mention it can scan, copy, and fax things? That’s why it’s a small-in-one printer. Once again, Epson has created another fabulous product and I’m pleased to have it. It would make for a fabulous holiday present for anyone who needs a better printer or someone who loves photos. So, what do you think of it?
Disclosure: I received a free printer. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.

I usually buy HP printers but they broke very fast, not even 1 year
I think it’s time for me to try the other brand name, like Epson!
Thanks for sharing this informative review
I will consider this printer when mine breaks down. I need one that isn’t so pricey for ink!
The 3 by 5 inch screen is pretty big for a small printer sounds great. Thank you. Jerri Davis
