You know that I can’t resist a new cookbook. I mean, especially when it contains an impressive list of recipes. I was pitched the MyRecipes America’s Favorite Food Cookbook and I knew I wanted to see it. Besides the ultra-cool technology aspect to it, it features some of the best recipes found on the MyRecipes site from several different magazines. Check it out!
The book presents the top 200 most-reviewed, most-searched and highest-ranked recipes from the website’s extensive collection – which features more than 65,000 recipes developed by trusted lifestyle magazines such as Cooking Light, Southern Living, Real Simple and Health, among others. Organized in 10 easy-to-navigate categories such as ‘Starters,’ ‘Seafood,’ ‘Meatless Mains’ and ‘Desserts,’ the recipes were selected based on actual reviews and rankings by more than 6 million home cooks who use MyRecipes.com each month.
So, it’s a best of the best for recipes. Sounds like a win-win to me. Then, there is an additional thing that really puts this cookbook in a category of its own. It has the Scan-It/Cook-It™ feature which allows readers to get more in-depth information and tips on the recipes from the experts. You simply download the Digimarc “Discover” App to your phone. Then, when you see the image in the book indicating additional resources, you use the app to find more info, such as…
‘How-To Videos,’ which walk users through an entire recipe step-by-step, such as how to poach eggs or cut up a chicken; and ‘Expert Answers,’ which provide feedback to common cooking questions and allow users to submit their own questions. Other features include ‘Weeknight Meal Planners,’ ‘Collections of Similar Recipes,’ ‘Shopping Lists,’ and more.
See what I mean? This is truly an interactive cookbook. I love that I can get instructions that go beyond just words and pictures with this book. It is so helpful and brilliant. I’m sure that more cookbooks in the future will have this feature since it is so handy.
I am really impressed with this book. I love the selection of fabulous recipes. Plus, the added resources enrich the cooking and learning experience. It’s great for seasoned cooks to learn more recipes and it’s wonderful for newer cooks to learn the basics with better details. So, do you want a copy? Then, enter below.
