Red Envelope: Gifts for Loved Ones

Red Envelope Cake Pop

Back in 2011, I was lucky enough to do a Red Envelope Giveaway. This year, I selected Valentine’s Day gifts for my mom and my boyfriend from the site. Since it’s the first Valentine’s Day without my dad, I wanted to get my mom something good. I also wanted to get my boyfriend something he would enjoy that wouldn’t be too unhealthy for him.

This year, I gave my mom a Valentine’s Day card. I also know that she loves surprise food that contains chocolate. So, I got something new for us to try. They’re called cake pops. They are essentially balls of chocolate on a stick with some vanilla frosting and gold or silver sprinkles. They looked so pretty and arrived in perfect condition. I was afraid they would be broken. However, they looked perfect when they arrived. Additionally, they tasted delicious. My mom said they were “rich” in flavor and that I “always get cool stuff”. I guess she liked them? ;)

Sadly, between our hectic schedules, I was unable to see my boyfriend yesterday for Valentine’s Day. So, I’m going to be giving him his gift tonight. I’m hoping that he doesn’t read this post between the time it goes live and the time he picks me up as he doesn’t know he’s getting this. I wanted to get him a nice box of goodies. However, I didn’t want to completely ruin his healthy eating. That’s why I went with a Valentine’s Day themed fruit gift. It contains various pieces of fruit in addition to an adorable teddy bear. Just look how nice it is (unless you are my boyfriend, then quit reading).
