You may recall that this year marks the Chicken Soup for the Soul 20th Anniversary, since during the summer I posted about the special edition book they put out. Today, I want to highlight another special book they’ve come out with to coincide with those celebrations. It’s the Reader’s Choice of books. Disclosure: I received a free copy of the book.
Chicken Soup for the Soul 20th Anniversary
Just like every single one of their books, this one contains stories that change lives. However, this provides the actual proof of their work helping others. It features the story of an actual CSS reader who has been helped in some way by a particular story. Then, it also provides the story that helped them. I think that’s a very neat idea. It allows us to get 2 stories at once about a particular topic/life choice. Plus, it can help us to see more ways to use the stories to help us deal with things.
One of the mores interesting things about the Chicken Soup for the Soul 20th Anniversary: Reader’s Choice book is the fact that it allows us to discover so many different stories. I love that the old stories even mention and have an image of the cover of the CSS book that the story originally appeared in. I was able to discover several different books that I wasn’t aware of because of that. For instance, how did I not know that they have a book for teachers? I mean it makes perfect sense, I just didn’t know it.
I think that once again, CSS has determined a way to make another good collection of stories. I liked to read a couple of the stories right before bed as they usually help me to relax. However, I could see someone taking this book and reading several stories at once.
