One of the perks of being a member of the US Cellular Better Moments Blogger Brigade is that I received a free Samsung Galaxy S4 phone. Before I received it, I was using a Galaxy S III , which I previously reviewed. So, this month I wanted to share my thoughts on the new phone and how it helps me create Better Moments in my life. Disclosure: I received a free phone and compensation for being a Blogger Brigade member.
Samsung Galaxy S4
Having had the Galaxy S3 for several months prior to getting my new Samsung Galaxy S4, I figured it would be an easy transition. For the most part, it was. The hardest part was getting the phone to quit buzzing at me. It came pre-set with a bunch of loud notifications that took me a couple of days to find and fix. I also had to purchase a new cell phone case for this one since it’s larger than the S III. Sadly, the case I prefer and had for the other phone is not yet made for the 4. So, I’m having to make due with the second best case (which is still good, it’s just not my favorite one).
Another thing I had to do was re-download all of my favorite apps on to this phone. It was easy to transfer all of my contacts since US Cellular has an app for that. However, I had to spend time finding and downloading the ones I use all of the time. My must-have apps include:
- Yahoo! Mail
- Sound Hound – it allows me to figure out what song is being played on the radio or while I’m out and about. It’s really handy.
- Lookout – it’s a very useful security app that will even email me a picture of someone when they try to unlock my phone and enter the code wrong three times in a row
As you can see, I mostly go for the communication and social media apps. All of those allow me to enjoy Better Moments because I don’t have to fear missing out on something. I can see my family’s pictures on Facebook and Tweet with my blogging friends as well. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been really helpful to me this summer at the blogging conferences. It allowed me to stay in contact with my mom and boyfriend while I was out of town. Plus, I could send them pictures of the things I was doing. It also kept me engaged with the sponsors as I was able to enter contests on Twitter and Instagram by using it.
So, what do you think of my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone? If you are considering getting a new smartphone, I’d definitely recommend it. It’s probably one of the best phones US Cellular offers right now.
