The weather here in southwestern Virginia is crazy! This week it was beautiful and in the 70’s. Last week, if you recall, we had snow in April. Either way, I am still trying to get better looking clothing for every season (since we are expected to look nice in the classroom – substitute or regular teacher). That’s why I was so happy to receive a Free Country jacket for review.
Free Country Jacket
As part of my long-term position this spring (winter), I had bus duty a couple of times. I also had to help with parent pick up everyday. Once I even had to help children physically get into their parent’s vehicles. So, I need a jacket that is high quality but also looks nice. That can be difficult these days. However, thanks to my new Free Country Jacket, I’m prepared for next year (or a random cold day).
For this review, I selected the women’s Gale midweight Free Country Jacket. I chose it because, even though their fleece jackets look wonderful, I wanted a material that would protect me in all types of weather. I also hate my jackets which don’t have a hood. So, a hood was a must. I typically get a black jacket (in hopes that it will match everything). However, this time I was sent a gorgeous white jacket (I’m hoping that it’s not too difficult to keep clean since I tend to be a bit messy).
I’m happy to report that this Free Country Jacket is awesome. It feels high quality in my hands (the material feels like it will stand up to the wind and rain nicely). It’s also warm without being too puffy (I don’t need to look heavier). I am also pleased with the fit. I got one in XL and it looks nice on me. I’ve had some warmer jackets look too bulky while others were too tight. I think this one provides a nice compromise.
I love all of the details in this jacket, too. The interior is a wonderful blue. It contrasts nicely with the white. It also has a place for my iPod (I think that’s what it is for). I love the zippered pockets on the front of it. I can place my hands in my pockets (like I always do when I wear a coat) and then put something in the middle zippered pocket.
So, what do you think of my new Free Country Jacket? Have you ever purchased any of their outerwear? What did you think of it?
Disclosure: I received a Free Country Jacket for free. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.
