My boyfriend and I eat lots of chicken. So, recently we had discussed trying some fish because we wanted something different as well as to get the benefits of eating fish. Then, I received an email to try some Gorton’s Seafood and it was perfect timing. They wanted us to try the Gorton’s Seafood Grilled Fish (which was what we were looking at anyways). So, I knew I had to sign up.
We went to our local Wal-Mart which had only the signature grilled tilapia for the grilled fish from Gorton’s. So, we got it to try. Then, my boyfriend prepared what he loves to fix with chicken… rice and vegetables. We also added some seasoning to the vegetables for flavoring. However, we didn’t add anything to the fish as it already contained herbs and spices. We weren’t sure what to expect from the fish since we are not big fish-eaters. However, we were pretty happy with the fish. We decided that we would indeed eat it again. It was juicy and it was easy to slice without falling apart too easily. It was also really tasty. I also loved the fact that each piece had only 80 calories! So, we can be healthier while eating the fish.
Speaking of being healthy, do you know all of the health benefits of eating fish? For instance, fish is a natural source of two healthy omega-3 fatty acids, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). They promote good health and may reduce your risk of chronic disease. Plus, they may decrease blood pressure, triglycerides, and cholesterol levels. That last part is especially important to me because I have high blood pressure and cholesterol (I’m on medication for my blood pressure). So, I really want to try and eat more fish to help with this. It is recommended that we eat seafood twice a week to get the full benefits from fish. I’m sure we will be trying harder to do this now that we know just how good the grilled tilapia is.
