I thought I was prepared for the fun that was the BlogHer 2013 Expo Hall and the conference in general. However, I returned as tired and achy as I’ve ever felt. Blah. I didn’t feel like doing anything for literally days afterwards. I’ve been back for over a week now and I’m still trying to put the whole thing into words (as well as get caught up on things). I definitely enjoyed BlogHer, it was just a lot to take in at once. I’m definitely glad it wasn’t my first blogging conference as I would have been completely overwhelmed. One of the most talked about things about BlogHer is the infamous expo hall and the sponsors. So, I thought I’d give a quick rundown of my expo hall experience.
BlogHer 2013 Expo
Since this was my first time going to BlogHer, I have nothing to compare it to. So, I was pretty impressed with number (and quality) of sponsors at BlogHer (I’m used to smaller conferences though). I actually spent significantly more time in the expo hall than I thought I would. It was so much fun to wander around the hall and discover new products/brands. It was also great to finally meet some reps I’ve worked with for years (I’m looking at you Serta and Fox Movies).
Three of the brands I was happy to interact with were running special giveaways (disclosure: by including them in this post, I’m entering their giveaways). This includes Gorton’s Seafood, Daily’s Cocktails, and Brew Over Ice. You may recall the Gorton’s Grilled Fish Giveaway I did late last year and the Destination Daily’s Cocktails Giveaway I hosted prior to the conference. So, I was well-acquainted with them. I was really happy to once again see Brew Over Ice, as I interacted with them at Reviewer’s Retreat earlier this summer. All three of them had interactive booths with delicious goodies. Just look how much fun I’m having at their booths in the pictures above!
My post on the BlogHer 2013 Expo Hall wouldn’t be complete without a few more mentions. For instance, I loved checking out the Folgers/Pillsbury booth there. They are both brands that I’ve been wanting to work with for years and yet have never been able to nail down the correct contact. Haha! Either way, the Dough Boy provided for a great photo opp. I also enjoyed checking out and dancing with the Shark Sonic Duo. Too bad I didn’t win one though. 😉 I also enjoyed the Sargento booth as it had a nice sandwich that I ate for lunch on Saturday.
Overall, I would say that I had a positive experience at the BlogHer 2013 Expo Hall. It wasn’t a perfect experience (umm… just because I don’t have children doesn’t mean I “must have all of this free time” and some people need to work on restraining themselves when they see a free piece of food), but it was a really good one. I definitely wouldn’t mind returning to BlogHer, depending on its location and timing next year.
So, what was your experience with the BlogHer 2013 Expo Hall or perhaps a previous year’s one?
