Preparing for back to school/college means finding yummy and quick snacks. So, I was happy to be introduced to Nonni’s biscotti. Nonni’s is the most popular selling biscotti on the market. They recently updated their packaging to include a user-friendly pull-out tray in a fold-in tab box (pictured above). So, the box is perfect for storing the biscotti in a cramped dorm room as it doesn’t take up much space but is sturdy enough to keep them in good condition (just make sure they don’t get too hot).
I received a box of their Cioccolati flavored biscotti. It is the classic original biscotti dipped in some bittersweet chocolate (which is why I said not to let them get hot as the chocolate will melt). Biscottis are gourmet dunking cookies. The word is derived from Italian meaning twice baked. So, that should give you some idea of the texture and its uses.
I actually tried the biscotti by itself, just to see what it’s like. I must say, I was very impressed. It’s a bit crunchy (perfect for a liquid substance) and a touch dry (would soak up lots of drink). So, it’s really a good dunking stick. It had a very unique outer texture which is pictured above. The chocolate on the bottom was wonderful! A warm liquid melts the chocolate perfectly. It has a really good and rich flavor that is great for breakfast or a snack.
Have you ever had a biscotti? How about a Nonni’s biscotti? If you have, which is your favorite?
Disclosure: I received a box for Nonni’s biscotti for free. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.
