For the past two months my boyfriend has been staying with me at my apartment and it has caused me to change my habits to include my favorite snack food even more often. I know you probably think those things aren’t related, but they totally are (now).
Disclosure: I received the cereal for free but was not required to post about it.
My Favorite Snack Food
A couple of months ago, I would come home from work and get on the computer and stay online most of the night. I might even eat dinner by myself in front of the laptop. However, since the boyfriend has started staying with me, my habits have changed a bit.
Now, we make and eat dinner together at the table. Then, we “geek out” as we call it wherein we sit on the couch beside each other while using our laptops for a little while.
Eventually, I will take a shower. Then, we will relax and unwind with our newly discovered favorite activity – watching an episode or two of a good show (such as House of Cards or The X-Files) on Netflix while eating my favorite snack food… cereal!
I will admit to getting my boyfriend hooked on my favorite snack food with a ploy to have him try some of the new General Mills cereals that I received earlier this year. However, after he had a bowl, he was on board for a repeat of watching and eating the next night. Now, no joke, we almost always end our night with a show and a bowl of cereal!
Here lately, we’ve been loving some Dark Chocolate Cheerios! They are delightfully tasty and they make me feel like I’m eating a great treat at the end of a hard day without being overinduglent. Additionally, we’ve taken to mixing our cereal together. The Dark Chocolate Cheerios go well with the Fiber One Protein cereals, we think.
I realize that it may seem silly to have a nightly ritual wherein we simply watch an episode of a show and enjoy my favorite snack food, but it certainly brightens up my day. Do you do something each night to reward yourself?
