I recently received the Dansko Deidra shoe, just in time for teacher appreciation week. Just like last year, Dansko is celebrating it in a big way with a special promo. Once again, they sent me a pair of shoes for the celebration!
Disclosure: I received the shoes for free.
I was allowed to pick a pair of shoes from their site for this review. I knew I wanted a closed-toe option since I have sandals I can wear already. However, finding a comfortable pair of flats or similar types of shoes for warmer months in the classroom has proved to be difficult. So, I ended up with the Dansko Deidra shoe.
The Dansko Deidra looks cute yet professional. It manages to strike the right balance between fashion and being teacher reasonable for shoes. I love the slip knot closure as it adds some personality to them and makes them look nicer without being an actual clasp closure. It is actually a Velcro closure, so it’s easy to put them on and take them off.
My favorite thing about the Dansko Deidra shoe is the comfort. The contoured footbed feels so good against my feet. It cushions my feet as I walk 2 miles around the classroom/school each day (give or take). I like that they don’t rub against my heel (which is what often happens with these types of shoes). Once again, I’m very pleased with my Dansko shoes.
Being that Dansko makes such classroom friendly shoes, it’s no surprise that they are a favorite among teachers. To acknowledge that so many of their customers are teachers, Dansko always celebrates teacher appreciation week in a big way. Dansko is sponsoring a Teacher Appreciation Promotion. They are asking teachers to share how they celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day for a chance to win a Dansko Appreciation Event for themselves and up to four co-workers. There will be five teams of five winners and they will each win a breakfast and shoes! The promotion runs from 4/16 – 5/2 with winners announced on 5/7.
I know I’ll be entering that sweepstakes for me and my 6th grade team. We can all use some shoes and breakfast these days.
