George Foreman Removable-Plate Grill Review

George Foreman Removable Plate Grill 300x300 George Foreman Removable Plate Grill Review

I actually did a George Foreman Control Temp Grill Review last year and my mom has been using it regularly since. I keep hoping I will get a job and get the chance to move out of my parents’ house. So, when I had the opportunity to receive the smaller George Foreman Removable-Plate Grill in order to participate in The George Foreman Grill: Show Us Your Grill Skill Recipe Contest I knew I had to apply.

My boyfriend I are trying to eat healthier. So, we opted to try some ground turkey to make burgers. We were pleased to see that the patties gone done evenly and quickly. Plus, the grill removed even more fat from them than a regular pan would. So, we felt less bad about enjoying a burger. Then, we added some different toppings. My boyfriend put cheese, onions, ketchup, mustard, tomatoe, pickle, and lettuce on his. I put cheese, my favorite mustard, onions, and lettuce on mine.

George Foreman Grilled Burgers 300x99 George Foreman Removable Plate Grill Review

These burgers tasted delicious! We were very happy with the results. I ended up giving my boyfriend the grill so we can use it at his house. Plus, it’s the perfect size for us to grill something just for us. We also love the George Tough nonstick coating that keeps stuff from sticking to it. We can’t wait to use the grill again.

Disclosure: I am participating in The George Foreman Grill: Show Us Your Grill Skill Recipe Contest with the Family Review Network. I received a free grill. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.

Grapes from California Snack

Grape Snack 300x129 Grapes from California Snack

As you already know, I love it when I can eat healthy snacks. Prior to this post, I already purchased grapes to eat as a snack. So, I knew I wanted to learn about ways to create more foods featuring grapes. I received a copy of Green Black Red which features recipes for enjoying California Grapes. Did you know that California-grown grapes account for 99% of all the grapes sold in the US? I did not, but I think that’s very cool.

Green Black Red has an assortment of recipes from drinks and sides to recipes for kids. When I was selected to participate in the Healthy Snack Challenge, I began looking for something easy to inspire me. I quickly selected the no-brainer PB&G. I love PB&J sandwiches. However, the jelly has the addition of sugar and other stuff I don’t need. It had never occured to me to just place some grapes in place of the jelly on the sandwich. Since this was for a snack, I decided to put a spin on an old favorite snack with crackers.

I call it PB&G Crackers. Haha! I took some regular Zesta crackers (my family’s preferred cracker for years) and put a heaping amount of peanut butter on it (like we love it). Then, I halved some grapes to put on the crackers. So, as you can tell, it’s a really quick and simple snack to make. Plus, it’s healthier than many other options out there. See how delicious it looks!

Did this post inspire you to think of a fabulous grape snack idea? Then, you should head over to the Grapes from California Facebook page and enter their Makeover Your Snack Contest. By entering your snack, you can win $5,000! Wow! Talk about a nice prize. You have until July 31st to enter your grape snack into the contest. So, don’t delay.

Disclosure: I am posting this to participate in the Healthy Snack Challenge from the Family Review Network. I received a free copy of the book and $10 to purchase ingredients for my snack. No compensation was received but I am entered to win a gift card by posting this. The opinions expressed are my own.

Pledge Multi Surface Antibacterial Everyday Cleaner Giveaway

Pledge Multi Surface Antibacterial Cleaner 85x300 Pledge Multi Surface Antibacterial Everyday Cleaner Giveaway

I don’t know about you, but I hate having to purchase multiple products to clean various things in my house. I would rather have one bottle to keep up with and use than to keep up with several different ones. Thankfully, I now have the new Pledge Multi Surface Antibacterial Everyday Cleaner. This stuff is awesome! It will kill up to 99.9% of germs on virtually any surface! Woot!

I wanted to try this stuff because I love the Pledge brand. Whenever I use it I think of my grandmother. She had all of us grandchildren clean her house on Fridays after school. I would usually vacuum while one of my other cousins would dust using Pledge. So, I’ve literally grown up with the brand and I will continue to use it in my own house because I trust it. I was excited to see what this new product could do beyond just dusting stuff. The Pledge Multi Surface Antibacterial Everyday Cleaner can be used on wood, laminate, marble, granite, stainless steel, plastic, porcelain, glass, and electronics. So, you can use it all around the house!

This stuff cleans and disinfects all at once. You simply spray the cleaner on the surface and then wipe it away. So, it is like dusting with Pledge, but better! You can clean more surfaces while getting rid of things like the flu virus without leaving a smear behind. I think my grandmother would be very happy with this new product because I really like it. It’s a new spin on an old well-known product that improves it. Now, one lucky reader will win a bottle of it.

Blair Candy Review

So, Halloween is quickly approaching. This holiday is the perfect excuse to load up and pig out on some delicious candy. Just in time for this candy holiday, Blair Candy sent me some candy to try. Yay! Gotta love getting to pick out candy to try. icon smile Blair Candy Review

One of the first items that caught my eye was the Caramel Corn Cob. Since it’s unique, I knew I had to try it. It’s actually caramel corn that comes in a wrapper that looks like the green wrapping of a corn cob. Plus, the caramel popcorn is shaped like a corn cob. Such a perfect fall snack! Doesn’t it look yummy and adorable?!

Caramel Popcorn Cob 300x276 Blair Candy Review

I was really impressed with this snack. I was afraid that it would be hard, like most caramel corn in the store is. However, it was soft and chewy! The combination of the popcorn and caramel makes the snack fun to eat. Plus, it tastes really good. It was a wonderful surprise for sure.

I also received a huge 1.9 zip close bag of Assorted Swedish Fish! I hadn’t had Swedish Fish until this year and it was a box of red ones. So, I was interested in trying the other colors. I hadn’t realized that they are actually different flavors as well. The yellow is lemon, orange is orange, etc. It’s such a fun snack! I mean it’s wonderful to stick my hand into a great big bag of fish and pull out a gummy green one. Plus, they taste really good. With a bag this size, I might even share some. icon wink Blair Candy Review

Then, just to feel a little less unhealthy, I got the Welch’s Fruit Snacks. They contain 100% DV Vitamin C as well as 25% Vitamins A & E! Plus, they are fat free (yay!) and gluten free. They have a rich, fruity flavor. Plus, they are shaped like fruit.

I also selected a big bag of caramel creams. This one was actually for me and my dad as we are both lovers of this stuff. We’ve shared many of these creams before. So, I knew it was something we could both enjoy. I have had many creams in the past that were less than really fresh because they had that chalky sugar on them (from the inside cream). However, these things are fresh! They are not stiff or hard at all. Plus, the cream is at perfection without any residue on the caramel! icon biggrin Blair Candy Review They are Laughing Lindsay and LL’s dad approved.

Lastly, I got a bag of sour gummy worms! It’s actually from the Trolli brand. So, you know they are good. I love the fun colors of them. Plus, the flavor is strong and perfect.

Check out Blair Candy for your snack and candy needs. They have a wide variety of both to pick from. Plus, their prices are pretty reasonable for most things.

Disclosure: I received the candy for free from Blair Candy through the Family Review Network. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.

Seneca Farms Oatmeal and Fruit Review

Seneca Farms Oatmeal 300x184 Seneca Farms Oatmeal and Fruit Review

It’s really difficult to find something to eat for breakfast when I’m hurry that is not completely horrible for me. That’s why I was happy to try the new Seneca Farms Oatmeal and Fruit. We all know that oatmeal and whole grains are good for us. However, if you are like me, I can’t eat plain oatmeal because it doesn’t have enough taste for me. Seneca Farms has added bits of fruit to their oatmeal. They have come out with 2 flavors to begin with – Apple Cinnamon and Vanilla Peach.

This oatmeal and fruit is one of the easiest hot breakfasts I’ve had in a while. You see, the fruit and oatmeal comes packaged in a cup that you simply microwave for 45 seconds! You don’t even need to add water or milk! Wow! Talk about fast! Plus, the oatmeal and fruit is good for you! It has no trans fats or cholesterol! It is also a good source of Vitamin C. That sounds like a good way to start off the day to me!

Now, for the most important factor – taste. I really like the Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal. Of course, I normally love almost anything with cinnamon and apples in it. This oatmeal didn’t let me down. It’s nice and tasty. It’s not overly sweet, so a kid could enjoy it and so could an adult. I’m not really a big fan of peaches. However, the Vanilla Peach is pretty nice, too. I just prefer the Apple Cinnamon because that’s more me.

There is even a Seneca Farms Oatmeal and Fruit Coupon that will get you $.55 off a 2-pack of oatmeal! So, you can save if you want to try the new oatmeal found at Wal-Mart and other retailers.

Windex Vinegar Prize Pack Giveaway

CIMG1924 Windex Vinegar Prize Pack Giveaway

I was really excited to receive the AWESOME package pictured above from Windex Multi-Surface Cleaner! It’s a bottle of the new Windex Vinegar Multi-Surface Cleaner, a fold-away tote bag, and digital picture frame! The pretty tote bag is actually pretty big when it’s unrolled. However, the neat thing about it is that it can be folded up to take up less room (a major plus in a crowded dorm room). It’s the perfect bag for any girl.

The digital picture frame is especially exciting to me. I’ve been looking at these for a while now. You simply put your SD Card into the frame, plug it up, and then you can view your pictures in the frame or view a slideshow of the pictures! How awesome is that? I mean with the holidays just around the corner, this would the PERFECT gift!

I was a bit concerned about trying the new Windex since it’s Vinegar. I thought it might have a bad scent or not clean as well as the usual Windex. However, I should have known better. This Windex is great! It has a very light, fresh scent, not like I’m used to vinegar smelling like. Plus, it does a really great job cleaning. I had actually cleaned a mirror in my room last week with a different brand of cleaner. Then, I brought this bottle of Windex back with me and cleaned it again. The Windex removed stuff that the other brand left behind. My mirror has never looked cleaner (not even on the first day when I moved in). Needless to say, I’m really impressed with this new cleaner.

This is definitely one of my favorite prize packages. Now, for the exciting part for you…

CardStore Review and Giveaway

It’s never too early to start thinking about ordering some holiday cards. I was recently able to receive some cards from the CardStore to review. I picked the card pictured above because part of the proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research. Plus, I like how it’s colorful with different images of things typically associated with the holidays. I like that it says “joy”, so that I don’t have to use the cards just for Christmas.

The CardStore has really quick shipping. I ordered and received my cards within one week! Woot! Talk about fast! Plus, the cards are of high quality. They are printed on a thick cardstock that’s really nice. This paper is 100% post-consumer recycled paper, too! I’m really impressed with the CardStore. I think next time I might look at their photo cards.

The CardStore was also nice enough to provide a discount code for my readers.

Barbara’s Bakery Review

CIMG1901 Barbaras Bakery Review

I recently received the very generous package of goodies pictured above from Barbara’s Bakery to review. First off, isn’t the little stuffed penguin adorable? I’m in love with it! It’s so precious! Anyways, on to the delicious food! Barbara’s Bakery is celebrating 40 years by saying no. Haha! They are saying no to the bad stuff – like artificial flavors and preservatives, trans fat, and refined sugar! How great is that? That means that you can still enjoy a nice chocolate chip cookie or cheese puffs without feeling so bad!

I received a bag of their White Cheddar Baked Cheese Puffs. These puffs are terrific. I’ve loved cheese puffs since I was a little girl. These seem like a smarter and possibly more grown-up cheese puff! Haha! They taste really good and have the usual cheese puff texture. However, they aren’t orange and greasy like regular cheese puffs. They are whiter since they are white cheddar.

I also got a little bag of the Chocolate Chip Snackimals. These are basically chocolate chip animal crackers! They taste really good! I actually sat down and ate the entire bag this past Sunday night while doing some homework without even thinking about it. The chocolate in these cookies are delicious. The cookies taste a little sweet – perfect for that sweet tooth, without being too much.

I also received 2 of their cereals – The Puffins Multigrain and the High Fiber Cranberry. Both of these are slightly sweet, but not too sweet like most cereals. I was actually pretty impressed with the range of colors of the multigrain cereal, so I took a picture of a handful of it.

CIMG1918 Barbaras Bakery Review

Doesn’t that just look good? Both of these cereals taste pretty good and are pretty good for you, too.

I am very impressed with Barbara’s Bakery. They make foods that are better for us than most other brands and they still manage to taste good. These are a mom’s dream, not to mention a college student’s fantasy. Haha! Really though, everything I tried was amazing.
