My Water for Elephants DVD Giveaway is ending tomorrow night. However, I recently had the chance to view it on DVD for myself. It came out on DVD from Twentieth Century Fox on November 1st.
What initially attracted me to this film is its actors. I loved Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds, so I was interested in seeing him play another part. I’m also somewhat of a fan of Reese Witherspoon. I liked Robert Pattinson when he was in the Harry Potter movies (prior to the Twilight series). Then, a friend of mine on campus told me that I needed to see the movie. I believe she had read the book by Sara Gruen prior to seeing the movie. Either way, she thought the movie was “so good”. Haha! Needless to say, when the chance to view it arrived in my inbox, I knew I had to take it.
In case you were interested in learning more about the film, here is the trailer for the movie.
I can honestly say I liked this movie. I thought it was interesting to see Christoph Waltz play another character. I think it’s also interesting that yet again he does so well acting the part of an antigonist in a time period piece. He does a great job at getting mad! Haha! I thought Reese Witherspoon’s character got to wear some beautiful costumes. It must have been so much fun getting ready to shoot everyday. I thought the old man playing the part of an older Robert Pattinson was adorable and believable as the older man. I really liked having him in the story.
Perhaps, I am too used to Nicholas Sparks endings because I was not expecting things to work out well in the ending. However, a happy ending does indeed occur in this story. So, that was nice. I won’t giveaway the ending. However, I will say that I found it to be fitting. Overall, I thought it was a good movie. I would definitely watch it again. I did watch it by myself this time, so I would be open to viewing it with someone else in the future.
Have you seen or read Water for Elephants? What did you think of it?
