I recently got to try something new from KRAFT! It’s their Macaroni & Cheese Dinner Veggie Pasta which hit shelves nationwide last month.
The pasta has a half serving of cauliflower per one cup of product—but you can’t see or taste it because it’s baked directly into the pasta. With the quintessential cheesy taste and gooey texture of classic KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner, Veggie Pasta is available in Original and Three Cheese flavors and will make you smile knowing you’re getting some of the daily recommended vegetables into your family’s diet.
Since I’ve been trying to eat healthier and my mom is doing the cooking this summer, I thought this would be the perfect product for us to try. You see, I already LOVE Kraft Mac & Cheese. So, I thought the addition of some veggies would be nice. However, I wasn’t sure if would change the flavor or appearance of the pasta.
The picture on the left shows you the pasta right out of the box. I think it looks relatively the same as other pasta, if not perhaps a little bit darker. However, that could just be the light or me. Haha! The picture on the right shows the pasta cooked with the cheese sauce. Doesn’t it look exactly the same as other Kraft mac & cheese (not to mention delicious)? So, it passed the sight test with flying colors.
Then, it was on to the tasting. I’m happy to report it tastes good as well. I think you might be able to tell it tastes a touch different than other pastas. However, I knew what I was eating and was looking for it. I definitely think a child or someone who didn’t know it was special pasta wouldn’t be able to tell a difference as it still tastes good and cheesy!
So, have you tried this new Kraft Mac & Cheese? What did you think of it?
Disclosure: I received free samples of the new mac & cheese from Kraft. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.
