I recently had the chance to watch Going the Distance on DVD with my boyfriend. This is a pretty funny movie. Although, it is an “R” rated film, so if you are easily offended or don’t like to watch films with that rating, I wouldn’t suggest that you watch the trailer below. However, I feel like trailers or clips sometimes do a better job of showing what I mean with my reviews, so I’m including this one anyways.
Going the Distance follows two main characters Erin (Drew Barrymore) and Garrett (Justin Long) as they start a simple summer fling while Erin is simply in town for an internship. Of course, they fall in love when Erin leaves so they have to endure a long distance relationship and try to figure out how they can be together. Being away from my boyfriend during the week made this film easy to relate to since we miss each other during the week.
We also enjoyed Christina Applegate’s and Jason Sudekis’s performances in this film. They added much comedy to the film. I thought this was a fun, happy film. Granted, it is not appropriate for all audiences. However, I feel like it’s a good date movie since both me and my boyfriend liked it.
You know I never giveaway the endings in my reviews, so you can buy Going the Distance on DVD, Blu-ray Combo Pack or On Demand now!
Disclosure: I received a free copy of Going the Distance for review purposes. No compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own.
