I recently received a complimentary The Heat Blu Ray copy for review. It was released on DVD last week (October 15th). So, I thought now would be a good time to finally tell you what I thought of it.
The Heat Blu Ray
I’ve been a fan of Melissa McCarthy since she was on Gilmore Girls years ago. I fell in love with her sense of humor in the Bridesmaids movie. So, I was looking forward to seeing The Heat Blu Ray starring her and Sandra Bullock. I know that Bullock’s roles have really improved in terms of quality in recent years, which made me even more excited to see the film. However, I was unable to make it to a theater to see it when it was playing. Thankfully, since it came out on DVD and Digital HD last week, I had a chance to finally see it.
I have had a nasty cold for a week and half now. Last week, I tried to work (and event went to a few interviews) while I was sick. However, over the weekend, I lost more of my voice. So, I’ve taken the past several days off from subbing. That’s how I was able to finally have time to sit down and watch this flick. I bundled up in my blanket (because I’ve been cold) and watched it by myself, as it’s a great movie to lift my mood.
I’m very happy to say The Heat Blu Ray is full of laughs. I thought it had lots of funny moments. For that reason, I would not suggest watching it if you have a hacking cough cold… If you are like me, then laughing to this with a cold may set off a coughing spell. Then again, I didn’t quit watching it due to the coughing. So, perhaps you might think it’s worth it (I obviously did).
The plot was a little predictable. However, I didn’t mind that. I was viewing it to relax and have a good sick/personal day. The Heat Blu Ray is just the thing for that. I’m sure it would make a great holiday gift as it’s fun (for me) to unwind in a warm house while watching something funny for a few hours. So, have you picked up your copy of The Heat Blu Ray yet?
