Part of the excitement surrounding the great BlogHer conference is all of the private events that take place. This year, I was lucky enough to be able to attend several of the official BlogHer private parties and a luncheon. I was pretty impressed, overall. So, to thank those fabulous sponsors, I thought I’d give a quick rundown of those events.
BlogHer Private Parties
I will start by saying that my BlogHer schedule was pretty hectic. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so tired or that my feet have ever hurt so much. I definitely made the most of my BlogHer13 experience and I’m glad I did. It was nice to see all of the various ways sponsors tried to connect with bloggers. It was also interesting to finally meet some reps as well as to come across some new fabulous ones.
- US Cellular Better Moments Luncheon – I jumped right in with the official BlogHer private parties with a luncheon with US Cellular on Friday. As you already know, I’m a US Cellular Blogger Brigade member. So, I was excited to meet the reps that I’m currently working with there. The luncheon was a small panel discussion regarding many of the things I’ve already discussed about them in my blog posts. You can view an overview of the US Cellular Better Moments luncheon on the US Cellular site.
- White Cloud Cocktails in the Clouds Party – This was an intimate cocktail party with an in the clouds theme. It was pretty dark with lots of fog from the fog machine. You could get your nails done here or enjoy some light food. My favorite part was getting to meet with the people behind the brand. I enjoyed a nice chat with a couple of folks from White Cloud and I need to follow up with them (along with practically everyone else from BlogHer). Another awesome perk of this party was that they sent me some great swag after the conference. I received a big package of toilet paper (which is always needed), a comfy white robe, and a branded backup battery charger (so neat and useful). I’ve heard that others also got some slippers, but my package didn’t contain any. That’s ok though. I loved the thought just the same.
- South Walton Beach Party – I think this was one of the most hyped/talked about parties. It had delicious food and drinks with a fun beach vibe to it. I think the main drawl though was the grand prize. They gave some lucky blogger a trip to visit South Walton in person. Wow! Like I said, everyone wanted to win that prize. Sadly, I wasn’t the winner of the trip, but they did give me a branded Mophie charger which was really thoughtful (in addition to hosting the fun party).
- The Vision Council Sun Smart Party – I was very interested in making this connection, seeing as how I wear glasses and my dad was legally blind. I was very pleasantly surprised when I got there and they informed us they were sending us swag after the conference in addition to allowing us to pick out a very nice pair of sunglasses. It was a nice little event where the main attraction was definitely the sunglasses. I liked their photobooth with fun props too. However, I was most impressed with the package they sent me afterwards. It contained a large, sturdy branded tote bag filled with other items. There was also a great sun smart beauty box with various name brand SPF-loaded beauty products along with a nice blanket. I was equally happy with The Vision Council rep’s personal handwritten note. I will definitely be following up with her.
There was a couple of other official BlogHer Private parties that I didn’t get into. I did miss out on some other lunches that were happening during the US Cellular one (CVS and Lean Cuisine sponsored them). There was also a pet company breakfast I didn’t get as well as a La-Z-Boy event I missed out on. Overall, I think most people were pleased with these events since they were smaller in terms of numbers of bloggers in attendance. Plus, I think it’s pretty obvious that most brands attempted to give bloggers gifts that we all appreciate. So, which official BlogHer Private Parties did you attend?
