If everything goes well, I should be at the airport in Chicago when this post goes live. Pending no delays, I will soon be on my way back from Chicago where I’ve been since Wednesday. I’m sure it’s been a whirlwind of a trip with lots of fun along the way. I love to travel and see different things. I love meeting new people and trying new foods. However, no matter how excited I am for a trip, I’m always ready to come back to my normal life afterwards. So, I thought I’d tell you what I like about coming home from trips.
What I Like About Coming Home
Now that I’m older, I love to get away for a few days. I like to sightsee and be able to say “I’ve been there.” I want to be able to say “I’ve seen/done that” about lots of things when I’m older. I don’t want to get old and wish I had traveled more. So, I’m really trying to do more that sort of thing now. However, it never fails. About half-way or three-quarters of my way into a trip, I start to think about heading home. It’s then that I realize what I like about coming home.
I’m sure this one will get me on this trip. I’m not a fan of cities. I love my small, rural community. I appreciate my mountains that more or less isolate us from many things. I love the beauty of the area. I love being able to get in my car and go some place without worrying about the traffic or cab fare. I like knowing what’s around the corner.
Seeing My Family
I usually don’t have time to talk much with my family when I’m on a trip. So, I miss my normal routine when I’m away. I also miss my mom and my boyfriend when I’m gone. I get happy when I think about coming home to see them again.
I think this one is pretty self-explanatory. I love to take a break from it all. However, I’m human. So, I crave a regular schedule. As such, I look forward to returning to my everyday routines.
These are the main things I like about coming home. What do miss (or only realize you miss) when you travel away from home?
